Automotive Technology Program
Available in two levels and equipped with an All-Data System, this program teaches participating students to detect problems and repair most vehicles. Our basic program is taught on-site and the advanced program provides opportunities to visit technical and mechanical institutions for higher learning in auto mechanics, giving students additional hands-on experience. Students are prepared and supported to obtain state licenses.
This program teaches young men the skill of construction and repair and enhances their math abilities. Students are able to participate in building projects that are focused on teaching framing, painting, dry walling and finishing. Students’ hands-on projects include building sheds, restoring wood furniture, and completing painting projects.
Barbering and Cosmetology
This program is geared toward students developing a fundamental skills set in Barbering and Cosmetology. This program also prepares students to take the state board exam of to enable them to be prepared to become licensed practitioners in their field. The students focus on theory and hands on approach at the Village Academy. *(Must be licensed with the Department of Labor and Licensing DLLR)
High School Diploma + 5 years or more in trade area of automotive, carpentry, barbering, & cosmetology
Experience working with students identified with learning or emotional disability
Must possess experience, certifications, and work experience in the career field of career field technology education. Must be highly qualified according the NCLB (2001) guidelines.
Staff must obtain a license in their field and have at least five years experience and obtain certification in CTE/ to include Barbering, Construction Methods, Automotive, & Cosmetology
