Accepting Applications for Listed Positions

POSITION: Science Teacher
REPORTS TO: Principal

​Teacher will:

  • Perform varied duties including organization and provision of a program of instruction designed to meet the needs of Emotional and Learning Disabled students (ED/LD).
  • Preparation of standard based lesson plans that ensure student maximum time on task.
  • Maintain appropriate record keeping, including but not limited to grade books, attendance, and academic progress.
  • Work collaboratively with peers to integrate lessons and assist in the monitoring of behavioral and emotional plans for students.
  • Participate in all professional development training. Maintain the overall school mission.
  • Work collaboratively with content area teacher, related services providers and BIS to ensure IEP goals are met
  • Assist in the planning and writing of IEP's, and attend IEP Meetings.
  • Work with all service providers to plan and write behavioral plans.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Science.
  • Maryland Certification / K-12. Special Education and Science Core Subject Area.
  • Must have at least 1 year experience teaching High School.

POSITION:   Social Worker
 
REPORTS TO: Principal

The Social Worker will:
 
  • Preparation of adaptive assessments, social and developmental histories on students. 
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students. 
  • Conduct home visits by addressing problems in children’s living situations that affect their adjustment in school. 
  • Work collaboratively with all support staff and agencies to ensure students are receiving the most effective and consistent behavioral health and mental health services available. 
  • Support teachers and Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) in creating and maintaining effective classroom behavioral programs. 
  • Participate in all professional development training. 
  • Attend IEP meetings as needed. 
  • Review student assessments to write goals and objectives based on findings. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 
 
  • Must possess at least a Master’s Degree in Social Work.
  • Licensed Social Work in Maryland
  • Must be highly qualified according the NCLB (2001) guidelines
